Big Ben Has Small Setback

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger came into the locker room on Wednesday with a more noticeable limp than last week, but he doesn’t think it will set him back going into this weekend’s playoff game at Denver against Tim Tebow, Von Miller and the Broncos.

I had a little setback early in the third quarter [at Cleveland last Sunday],” Roethlisberger said.

“We’re working really hard with the trainers and doctors to get back to even where we were before the Cleveland game. I felt pretty good going in and moved a little bit at the beginning of that game. It’s a little setback but we’ll get moving.”

He added, “We’ll be all right.”

Roethlisberger is famous for playing through injuries and having a high pain tolerance, but he hasn’t been nearly as effective since the injury.  He has completed 58.3 percent of his passes, with 1 TD and 4 INTs since the injury, giving him a passer rating of 68.4.  Before the injury, he had 20 TDs and 10 INTs and was having statistically one of his best seasons.
