Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger suffered a nasty-looking ankle injury in the 2nd quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Steelers. He limped off the field and headed back to the locker room. X-rays came back negative, but HC Mike Tomlin revealed after the game that Roethlisberger was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain. Doctors cleared him to re-enter, though, and Big Ben did. Hobbling throughout the entire 2nd half, Roethlisberger attempted just 12 passes. But the last one went for a 79-yard TD to WR Antonio Brown to ice the game away. Big Ben finished an efficient 16 of 21 for 280 yards and 2 scores. We’ll have to see what comes of the ankle injury — a high-ankle sprain usually keeps guys out at least 2 weeks. But the fact that Roethlisberger was able to return on Thursday bodes well for his Week 15 availability. He has 11 days to get ready for next Monday night’s showdown with the 49ers.
