Derek Cox joins the Minnesota Vikings as an unrestricted free agent after spending the 2013 season with the San Diego Chargers. Cox, a 3rd-round pick (73rd overall) by Jacksonville in 2009, has started 53-of-63 games he has appeared in.
In 16 games during the 2013 season, Cox recorded 34 tackles, 1 interception and 7 passes defensed. In the first 6 years of his NFL career, he intercepted 4 passes in 3 different seasons (2009, 2010, 2012). A graduate of William & Mary, Cox has recorded 204 tackles, 13 interceptions and 39 passes defensed.
