Bills Torell Troup’s Season Might Be Over

Last year Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Torell Troup’s season ended after five games and this season  Troup won’t even get a chance to play. He was placed on injured reserve by the team Thursday.

Troup has been trying to comeback from spinal-fusion surgery performed last December. At first things looked good as Troup passed the conditioning test, but after that progress slowed and he never got better. For the majority of training camp you could spot Troup riding a stationary bike.

So, it isn’t surprising to see Troup placed on injured reserve, especially with Dwan Edwards and Spencer Johnson are in the last year of their contracts.

Troup’s rookie year he played  15 games in 2010 and showed some promise with 23 tackles. So, before a decision is made on him Bills head coach Chan Gailey wanted Troup to get right.

“I told him when we visited I’m proud if him for the way he fought to get back, but he just couldn’t make it and we saw he wasn’t going to make it this year, so we wanted to not let him worry about it anymore and go get well and we’ll give him a run next year,” Gailey told the media.

So, for Troup 2013 is going to be a make or break year.
