In January, NFL Players Association announced the results of a survey it conducted of the players which revealed 78% of players do not trust their team doctors. At the NFL meeting today the 49ers owner John York called survey “nonexistent.” York says he has never seen the study and that the CBA requires the league and the NFLPA are obligated to conduct a joint health survey.
Response from players and the NFLPA has been swift and harsh. The NFLPA said,
“Coming from organization that denied Joe Montana’s workers compensation benefits for years we are not concerned about the remarks about our player survey. The day the NFL commits itself to taking care of players who have been injured at work is the day we begin to take these types of comments seriously.”
Last Tweet for the day: Has John York ever been treated by a club physician for an injury incurred while playing football? Didn’t think so.

NFL needs to accept that few people (player or otherwise) ever trust a doctor they don’t pay for. Particularly one their employer pays for.

Union just blasted York and have to say, I think York is wrong. I know for fact union has surveyed players on the team doctors.

Also, NFLPA says it got the letter from Dennis Curran asking for its study on teams doctors yesterday, and will respond in “short order”.
