The NBA players decided on Monday to reject the league’s latest offer, and have begun the process of disbanding the union, the Associated Press is reporting.
“We’re prepared to file this antitrust action against the NBA,” said Billy Hunter, the executive director of the player’ union. “That’s the best situation where players can get their due process.”
Union president Derek Fisher reiterated, “This is the best decision for the players.”
Hunter indicated that they felt that the NBA commissioner David Stern’s latest offer and ultimatum was “extremely unfair.”
