Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin has been one of the most sought after players in the NFL and, up to this point, unhappy in Minnesota due to the lack of consistency at the quarterback position. Harvin has made his frustrations public, declaring he would like to be moved, but Vikings general manager Rick Spielman reiterated today at the NFL scouting combine the team has no plans of trading Harvin.
“As I stated earlier, we have no intent to trade (him),” Spielman said. “Anything related to his contract or any discussions will all be kept internally. I think everybody understands what type of player Percy Harvin is. He’s a dynamic playmaker, not only on offense (and) the things that he can do with different positions, but also what he brings us as a kickoff returner.”
Last year, Harvin’s season was cut short when he sustained an ankle injury that sidelined him for the second half of the season. He still managed, however, to rack up 677 yards on 62 receptions in nine games.
The Miami Dolphins have showed interest in Harvin, and although it seems unlikely the Vikings are willing to deal their most versatile player, if the offer is good enough, one would surmise the Vikings would reconsider.
