Mike Tomlin’s Frustration with Steelers

Pittsburgh Steeler’s head coach Mike Tomlin has been very frustrated with the Steeler’s energy. In three straight games the defense had given 34 points, this was the first time Steeler’s defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau had to observe and experience his defense given so much opportunities to opposing teams.”He’s taking it very hard,” safety Troy Polamalu said of LeBeau, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “He’s very prideful. That’s why he’s the best ever.”

Tomlin has been so disgusted with ineffective players that he has given them an ultimatum; play good or get benched.”You re-evaluate everything,” Tomlin said Sunday, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “You have to after a performance like that and we will. … Those people who are lacking effort won’t be playing. It’s just that simple. I am angry, disappointed.”

“It shouldn’t be “act like you’ve done it before.” Now, it’s “act like you have a fighter’s chance of competing in this game if you make a few plays. “The reality is, they aren’t doing “it” anymore, and Sunday’s lackluster level of energy and emotion while the game was still competitive makes a casual observer wonder if the lack of plays isn’t directly tied to the lack of enthusiasm on both sides of the ball.”

The Steelers surrendered (55) points to the New England Patriots  in Sunday’s loss; this was the most points scored on a Steeler’s defense.
