Mike Sherman: We Need to Get Back to Running the Ball

On Sunday, first round draft picks Andrew Luck and Ryan Tannehill squared off and displayed why they were taken within the first ten picks of the 2012 NFL draft. Luck’s Colts got the better of Tannehill’s Dolphins 20-23 in the matchup on Sunday, and Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman believes a lack of a running game may have contributed to the loss, the Miami Herald reports.

“We should respond better than we have responded and we should be better than where we’re at right now,” Sherman said. “We should be well over 100 yards rushing per game.

“So we’re going to push the envelope this week and try to get back to the way we were running the football.”

Tannehill completed 22 of his 38 pass attempts on Sunday, and running back Reggie Bush had only 10 carries in the game.
