Marshawn Lynch signs new 4-year deal with Seattle
The Seahawks announced Sunday night a 4-year, $31 million deal with RB Marshawn Lynch. One of 2011's biggest breakout performers was due to hit free agency (or get the franchise tag). Instead, he'll see a reported $18 million guaranteed. That contract structure makes us think that Lynch should make it through the entire deal, barring injury or massive downturn. It's also worth noting that DeAngelo Williams drew 5 years, $43 million from the Panthers as a free agent last year. Williams' deal guaranteed $21 million. Ahmad Bradshaw re-signed with the Giants for 4 years, $18 million in 2011 free agency. Through that scope, Lynch's deal looks solid for both sides. Some might think he'll get soft now that he got paid. As long as he stays healthy, though, we like the outlook for Beast Mode. And the offense can only get better around him.
