This past season, Tim Tebow threw six pass attempts as a New York Jet, and ran a total of 40 offensive plays behind center. It’s clear the Jets didn’t trust the abilities of Tim Tebow as a passer. A fact that didn’t go unnoticed by his fellow teammates.
“It got to the point where Tim’s going into the game, it’s going to be a power,” safety LaRon Landry said Wednesday on ESPN. “I would have loved to see him throw the ball a little more.”
One would have imagined Tebow would have had chance to prove his quarterback acumen with Mark Sanchez having a tumultuous season, but that wasn’t the case. Even Landry admitted that he thought Tebow was going to be more involved.
The Pro Bowl safety said Wednesday he “most definitely” would like to be back with the Jets, but given his value and the Jets’ difficult cap situation that seems improbable, according to the New York Daily News. Landry recorded two interceptions and 75 tackles in 16 games last season.
