Junior Seau, one of the all time great linebackers, was found dead in his home today with a gunshot wound to the chest. The police are investigating it as an apparent suicide. Seau was 43 years old.
Seau was a great competitor on the field, voted to 12 Pro Bowls over the course of his career, and was the face of the San Diego Chargers throughout the 1990s. Off the field, he was a huge contributor to the community in San Diego, and worked tirelessly through the Junior Seau Foundation to raise money and ducate and empower young people through the support of child abuse prevention, drug and alcohol awareness and recreational opportunities.
