Jason Peters ruptures Achilles

Eagles LT Jason Peters ruptured his Achilles during a workout this past Tuesday. He’s set to undergo surgery next week. It’s an injury that usually takes 9-12 months to recover from, so Peters is unlikely to see the field this season. It’s a massive blow to the Eagles’ offense. Peters graded out as Pro Football Focus’ top OT last year, finishing 4th in pass-blocking and 2nd in the run game. OT King Dunlap is next up on the depth chart, but look to Philly to bring in competition. The loss of Peters is bad news for QB Michael Vick and RB LeSean McCoy.
