Bills WR Stevie Johnson revealed that WR Donald Jones has been getting some work in the slot during minicamp. "We moved him inside to the slot and he's looking real good," Johnson said. "He's got a perfect body for it. The power to get open and get separation, I think he's gonna have a great season and I think we'll be alright because he'll be able to open it up more." David Nelson was Buffalo's primary slot receiver last season, finishing 2nd on the team in both targets (97) and catches (61). Jones, meanwhile, played 88% of his snaps on the outside and managed just 23 grabs in 8 games. His numbers would figure to get a nice boost if he takes over slot duties in HC Chan Gailey's spread attack. This will be a situation to monitor when training camp opens.
