The Miami Dolphins have signed quarterback JP Losman and placed quarterback Sage Rosenfels Reserve/Non-Football Illness List, it was announced today.
The 6-2, 217 pound Losman has completed 558-of-942 passes in his career with 6,211 passing yards. He also has passed for 33 touchdowns and 34 interceptions. Losman spent part of the 2010 season with the Seattle Seahawks and the 2009 season with the Oakland Raiders which followed five seasons with the Buffalo Bills. In his career, Losman has played in 43 career games with 33 starts.
Losman was originally selected by the Buffalo Bills in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. After originally enrolling at UCLA in the fall of 1999, Losman transferred to Tulane prior to the start of the 1999 season. In 2002 Losman led the Green Wave to an 8-5 record and victory in the Hawaii Bowl against the University of Hawaii. Losman finished his collegiate career having completed 570-of-987 passes for 6,754 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions. He also rushed for 241 yards on 237 carries, with 10 touchdowns.
