Dolphins put hopes on Tannehill

The Miami Dolphins have been searching for a quarterback since Hall of Famer Dan Marino retired after the 1999 season. With the Dolphins taking Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill eighth overall, they’re hoping that their question is finally solved.

The interesting thing about the pick is that Tannehill former head coach at Texas, Mike Sherman, is the Dolphins offensive coordinator. That means Tannehill will have the same offense in the National Football League as he did in college. So, there is a good possibility that Tannehill could start right away.

As for the rest of the draft the Dolphins made a smart move in the second round in taking Stanford offensive tackle Jonathan Martin. With their franchise left tackle Jake Long the Dolphins now have two quality offensive tackles to protect Tannehill.

In the third round the Dolphins had two picks and first bolstered their defense by taking defensive end Oliver Vernon. Then later in the round the Dolphins gave Tannehill another target in tight end Michael Egnew.

When it the regular season comes, win or lose things will be interesting for the Dolphins.
