Former Washington Redskins quarterback John Beck has a new home… with the Houston Texans.
Beck competed with quarterback Rex Grossman last year for the starting quarterback position, but lost it to Grossman. However, Beck still made three starts last year after replacing Grossman in week six for a four interception performance against the Philadelphia Eagles. After Beck lost all three games, he was then replaced by Grossman.
Beck became expendable after the Redskins drafting quarterback Robert Griffin III in the first round and quarterback Kirk Cousins in the fourth round of this past April’s National Football League Draft.
Beck will have to compete with quarterbacks Case Keenum and T.J. Yates for a backup position behind starter Matt Schaub.
