The Indianapolis Colts, desperate to provide Peyton Manning with better protection than he got in 2010, selected Boston College tackle Anthony Castonzo with the 22nd pick in the NFL draft.
Analysis: Castonzo may have slipped a little bit from projections, but the Colts were happy he did. After years of establishing a reputation for targeting skill-position players in the first round, Indianapolis’ biggest need was obvious and Manning was probably begging them to find a pass protector. Castonzo is that, and he’s an immediate upgrade on the offensive line in Indy.
