Too Much Lamar Jackson for the Seahawks

Seattle, WA- With the Return of Earl Thomas III returning to Seattle as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, before the game the Seattle Seahawks stated all week long that they wanted to mix up the plays instead of just running the ball, because they know that the Ravens’ defense are good with stopping the run.


In the first quarter Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson threw a 50-yard strike to Miles Boykin to put Baltimore in striking distance but had to settle for a Justin Tucker field goal to put the Ravens on the board first 3-0. Late in the first quarter, Wilson and Chris Carson decided to keep the drive moving down the field. The Seahawks offensive coordinator threw some R.P.O action that confused the Ravens’ defense and helped the Seahawks get into the redzone. On a third and short at the 10-yard line threw an orthodox ball to Tyler Lockett in the endzone to go up 7-3.

The Seahawks stopped a potential drive, as Jackson picked up a chunk of yardage on a crucial third and ten, but failed to complete on the net possession. The Ravens had to settle for a field goal, which made it 7-6. After a couple of possessions later, the Ravens catch a break as Wilson threw an interception. The Ravens capitalized off the pick and scored a touchdown to make it 13-7. After a couple of productive plays down the field for the Seahawks, they had to settle for a field goal before halftime to make it 13-10, in favor of the Ravens.

In the second half, the Seahawks scored a field goal to tie it up at 13, but Lamar Jackson on a 4th and 2 scored an 8-yard touchdown. The touchdown extended the lead 20-13. The Ravens’ defense kept the Seahawks at bay with putting pressure on Wilson, as well as Metcalf and that created a lot of problems. After the Ravens tacked on another field goal, the Seahawks nailed their own coffin shut after Metcalf fumbbled the ball. The Ravens recovered the fumble and scored to make it 30-13.  The Seahawks kicked a desperation field goal to make it a 30-16 game.

Jackson finished the game 9/20 for 143 yards through the air and ran for 111 yards and a touchdown.
