Dallas, TX- Shaquem Griffin has shown the heart, will, and determination with making his NFL dream come true, and today his NFL journey has begun as the Seattle Seahawks have picked him up in the draft. Everyone knows about his story with having one of his arms cut off at a young age, but what others may or may not have known was his twin brother Shaquill Griffin plays for the Seahawks.
Shaquem was very humbled and excited about playing with his brother when Seattle picked him.”It was literally like a dream like I was actually imagining stuff and it just started happening,” Griffin said in a conference call with reporters after Saturday’s selection. “It was unexplainable. I couldn’t ask for anything in the world than to be with my brother.”
Griffin recorded 166 tackles and 18 1/2 sacks with Central Florida. He has earned this opportunity and the Seahawks’ fans are pretty excited to see how he will help out the team. He is an inspiration to all people and the message within his story is never give up when adversity knocks on the door, keep striving, working hard, and have faith in everything that you do.
Shaquem’s brother was happy for his family and the Seattle organization. “I am proud that my brother has a chance to showcase his work and talents. I get to play alongside my brother and it’s a blessing. I am so excited for him and his dream coming true.”
It is very rare that two bothers play for the same team and play on the same side of the ball. It will be interesting to see how everything will pan out.
