Seattle, WA- Rookie L.J. Collier went down with an ankle injury late in practice and it seems like it was a very serious injury. “He was on the other side, I just saw him go down,” left tackle Duane Brown said. “He looked like he was in a lot of pain, I’m hoping he’s alright. He’s going to be a good player. I’m looking forward to working with him as well. Somebody, I think who has a lot of ability, and a lot of potentials. He is kind of raw in his technique, but I’m looking forward to working with him.” It was just announced that Collier has a high ankle sprain.
Collier was just one of the many injuries that the Seahawks are dealing with. Left guard Mike Iupati and tight end Tyrone Swoopes were in walking boots during practice and there have not been any dates on when both of them will return.
Even with the injuries, a lot of players have been very optimistic about the season and feels like this could be a great season for them. They are all coming out of the gate with a chip on their shoulders and something to prove.
Last year the Seahawks got hot in the second half of the season and it was because their young defense stepped up to the plate. They pressured QB’s, made big plays, and press defenders when they needed to. Just because the Seahawks are young doesn’t mean that they do not know how to play without their key players.
