The Buffalo Bills have announced that they have named Pat Morris as the team’s new Offensive Line Coach.
Morris, who is entering his 16th coaching season in the NFL has guided an offensive line that has produced a top 10 rushing offense nine times in his 15-year NFL coaching career.
Three of those years, his team lead the NFL in rushing, 1998-1999 during his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers and 2007 when he was with the Minnesota Vikings. Pat Morris Offensive Lines have blocked for a 1,000-yard rusher 11 of his 15 years during his time in the NFL.
That’s good news for the Buffalo Bills has they have a dynamic duo rushing attack with Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller. The key for the Bills rushing offense will be if Fred Jackson can remain healthy even though it looks more likely that C.J. Spiller will have an increased role in the team’s offense going forward.
If, however, Fred Jackson can remain healthy the Buffalo Bills have two running backs with a solid chance to become just the 7th team to produce two 1,000-yard rushers in the NFL.
The last team to produce two 1,000-yard rushers was the Carolina Panthers in 2009. Jonathan Stewart gained 1,133-yards ad De’Angelo Williams rushed for 1,117-yards.
