On January 18th, Cameron Wake was named the Dolphin’s MVP of the 2012 season for his spectacular defensive performance. The title was well-deserved after Wake was selected to participate in the 2013 Pro Bowl along side the league’s number one sacker, J.J. Watt.
Offensive MVP went to Reggie Bush, the Dolphin’s star running back, who finished the season with a total of 986 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns. He was striving for a 1,000 yard season, but because he managed to rack up 292 receiving yards, he was not disappointed with the outcome.
Reshad Jones was selected as the team’s Most Improved Player of 2012. He finished his season with 4 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles. One of his interceptions came in a game vs. New England where he picked off future-Hall of Famer Tom Brady.
Another notable player that did not receive an MVP award, but had an outstanding season is punter Brandon Fields. He closed out the 2012 season with a punt average of 50.2 yards with 29 of his punts being downed within the 20 yard-line.
