Eden Prairie, MN (January 10, 2013) – Minnesota Vikings LB Chad Greenway has been named to his 2nd Pro Bowl after recording a personal-best 191 tackles in 2012. The South Dakota native will replace Dallas LB DeMarcus Ware who is unable to play due to an injury. Greenway becomes the first Vikings linebacker to attend back-to-back Pro Bowls since Scott Studwell went in 1987 and 1988.
Greenway has now led the Vikings in tackles from 2008-2012. He recorded double-digit tackles in 11 of the 16 games this season including a team-high 14 tackles in the Wild Card game against Green Bay. Greenway finished the season with 191 total tackles (121 solo, 70 assisted), 7 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 interception.
Greenway has appeared in 80 consecutive games, 2nd longest streak for NFL LBs, after rebounding from a knee injury in 2007. The 2011 Vikings Community Man of the Year becomes the 5th Viking selected to the 2012 Pro Bowl joining: Adrian Peterson, Jared Allen, Jerome Felton and Blair Walsh.
