Jets Linebacker Calls Out Run Defense

The New York Jets are currently ranked 31st in the league in run defense, and linebacker Bryan Thomas has used one word to describe it. “Bad,” said the veteran linebacker, according to the New York Daily News.

“It is what it is.”

The Jets have allowed opposing rushers to gain 4.9 yards per carry this season, a woeful statistic for a once formidable ground and pound stuffer. In the past two weeks, however, the Jets defense has seen the likes of San Francisco’s Frank Gore and the Houston Texans Arian Foster, two of the leagues best backs.

Head coach Rex Ryan and defensive coordinator Mike Pettine will get a reprieve this weekend, when they face a Colts team featuring rookie running back Victor Ballard, who replaces an injured Donald Brown.

Look for gang green to get back to their run stopping ways this Sunday.
