Rams’ Sam Bradford Fuels Up to Play

WASHINGTON—St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, the No. 1 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, recently spoke to youth about the importance of staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Bradford shared stories from his childhood that contribute to a healthy lifestyle and answered several questions from students during a recent appearance in Washington, D.C. as part of the Fuel Up to Play 60 initiative.

One student asked how much weight he can bench-press, to which Bradford responded about 305 pounds.

“My body is the most important thing about what I do for a living,” Bradford told the kids. “And I have to keep my body in great shape.”

The rising star stressed eating a balanced diet and incorporating regular physical exercise to stay healthy.

“I feel very blessed to be in the situation that I am to get to wake up and play football every day,” he said.

Bradford, who told the Fuel Up to Play 60 student ambassadors that his second-favorite sport is basketball, also led them in an NFL fitness activity. He even partook in an impromptu milk-chugging contest, earning applause and laughter from the health-conscious crowd.
