The Vikings believe RB Adrian Peterson (knee) could make it back in time for the 2012 season opener. “Obviously, everybody responds differently to surgery along with rehab,” Head Coach Leslie Frazier said. “But the way he attacks things and how optimistic he is… I’m pretty optimistic that that goal is a realistic goal.”
Peterson is expected to undergo surgery within the next 7-10 days. It’s an optimistic timetable, but every player’s recovery from this type of injury is different. We’ve seen guys make it back in less than the 9 months AP has to recover.
The All Pro running back tore both his MCL and his ACL during Saturday’s victory over the Washington Redskins when he was hit be DeJon Gomes.
