As is typical in New England, praising your opponent and avoiding bulletin board material are the rules of the game. All Pro quarterback Tom Brady followed the script, praising the Baltimore Ravens as the best team they’ve faced all season.
The Ravens knocked the Patriots out of the playoffs two years ago, so they aren’t about to take Baltimore lightly, but this is the playoffs. It’s about getting back to the Super Bowl, not about revenge.
“This is nothing about ’09 or ’10,” Brady said. “This is nothing about last week or last season or last month or 10 years ago. It’s about this week. The clock’s ticking.”
He added, “The Ravens, they’re the best team we’ve faced all year. There’s no one that’s going to overlook a team like that. It would be impossible to do.”
While Brady is driving the best offense in the AFC, he is facing the best defense in the AFC, a classic strength-against-strength matchup. It figures to be a great game as we’ve got two great match ups for Championship Sunday.
