NFL: NFC East Team Predictions

It’s time to finish up the NFC as we move on to the final division in the conference, the NFC East, as I review each team and give my prediction for every team in the division while giving my reasons for the record. What was once known as the best division in football has fallen off in recent times. However, the Giants have won 2 Superbowls in the last 8 years, and the Eagles and Cowboys have threatened in recent years. But with all of that in the past, it’s time to move on to the NFC East Team Predictions for 2015.

Rays

Dallas Cowboys – Despite many years of being on the bad end of many jokes, the Cowboys have one of the best teams in the NFL. By many accounts, the Cowboys were one catch, facing and then possibly beating the Seattle Seahawks, who they beat during the regular season. Starting QB Tony Romo and star WR Dez Bryant will once again be the focal point of the offense, but with what I consider as the best offensive line in the NFL, the Cowboys offense will be very hard to contain. DeMarco Murray is now an Eagle, but this line will open holes for anyone, enter RB Joseph Randle. TE Jason Witten is still a productive player and Terrence Williams is a perfect number #2 WR, this team is loaded.

Record Last Year 12-4
Vegas Wins Over/Under 9.5
My Prediction 13-3

Rays2

New York Giants – The only team in this division that has any Superbowls in the last 18 years is the New York Giants, with them winning in 2007 and 2011. The Giants have filled a lot of holes in the offseason, but had another one created with LT Will Beatty went down with a torn pectoral muscle. If they can keep their line intact, QB Eli Manning will definitely have a load of options with stud WRs Odell Beckham Jr. and the returning Victor Cruz out there. New RB Shane Vereen will have a big impact as a pass catching option out the backfield. Defense will be the Giants biggest knock. What was once a feared defensive line is decimated and the questions surrounding DE Jason Pierre-Paul starts all conversations.

Record Last Year 6-10
Vegas Wins Over/Under 8
My Prediction 9-7

Rays3

Philadelphia Eagles – There is no gray area when talking about the Eagles offseason, either you loved it or hated it. I personally was not too fond of their moves. I feel their coach Chip Kelly feels his offense will score no matter who is in it, which is very Steve Spurrier-like. I cannot see how letting your 3 best offensive players, who looked perfectly made for that offense, will help your offense. The offense will be controlled by injury prone QB Sam Bradford and will have RB DeMarco Murray as the centerpiece. WR Jordan Matthews and TE Zach Ertz will have to step up now if the offense is to produce.

Record Last Year 10-6
Vegas Wins Over/Under 9.5
My Prediction 7-9

Rays4

Washington Redskins – The only team I really can’t see stepping up to possibly win the division is the Redskins. There are so many questions surrounding their starting QB Robert Griffin III that I can’t see this ending well. Alfred Morris is still a very good RB and they still have Desean Jackson and Pierre Garcon on the outside, but they need someone to get them the ball. TE Jordan Reed is always hurt, which doesn’t help team chemistry. One thing the Redskins do have is 2 very good pass rushers. With LBs Ryan Kerrigan and newly signed Junior Galette, they can get to the QB, but I doubt that’s enough?

Record Last Year 4-12
Vegas Wins Over/Under 6
My Prediction 2-14

The NFC East is always a fun division to watch. The teams don’t like each other, the coaches aren’t particularly fond of each other, and the teams have right around the same amount of talent that no one runs away with it. I think the Cowboys will win the division and will likely get a bye, but we have seen things blow up for them in the past, in epic proportions. Are we going to see another season end in controversial fashion like #DezCaughtIt? Is it time for the Giants to make another run? Will Chip Kelly be proved to be a genius or out of the league in 2 years? Will RG3 ever be RG3 again? There are millions of questions and only 1 way to see them answered, tune in.
