Quarterback TONY ROMO of the Dallas Cowboys was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for December, the NFL announced today.

- Romo led the Cowboys to a 4-0 record in December as the team won the NFC East. He completed 83 of 111 passes (74.8 percent) for 987 yards with 12 touchdowns and one interception for a 133.7 passer rating, the highest December passer rating in NFL history (minimum 100 attempts).
- He is the first Cowboys quarterback to go 4-0 as a starter in December since Pro Football Hall of Famer TROY AIKMAN in 1993.
- Romo had a 100+ passer rating in all four games during the month, throwing multiple touchdowns in each contest.
- He led the league with 113.2 passer rating, the highest single-season mark in franchise history.
- Romo was selected to his fourth Pro Bowl.
- In his 12th season from Eastern Illinois, this is Romo’s fourth career Player of the Month Award. He was previously honored in November 2006, September 2007 and December 2009.
- Romo and Aikman (October 1993) are the only quarterbacks in team history to be named Player of the Month.
- This is the first time in team history the Cowboys have won three Offensive Player of the Month Awards in a season. Running back DE MARCO MURRAY was honored in September and October.
