With a tremendous nagging injury Buffalo Bills quarterback EJ Manuel had to watch his team from the sidelines last season. In the games that EJ had played, you could see that he was uncomfortable sitting in the pocket and at times took unnecessary sacks where he could have thrown the ball out of bounds. Statically he had completed over 58% of his passes during the season, but lacked the long ball.
EJ has been very determined to improve his game a little bit, so in the offseason 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and himself trained together. EJ had expressed that he was excited for this season and he felt that he was 100% coming off multiple surgeries. “The biggest thing for me was improving on situational football and being smarter,” Manuel told Sirius NFL Radio on Tuesday morning. ”I just tried to follow his lead on what he was telling me to help me improve my technique.”
With a Healthy quarterback the Bills needs to get back into the post season with EJ managing the game. If EJ remains healthy during the whole season the Bills could look to be a very dangerous team. The Bills have the longest playoff drought and have been making some executive decisions by building an offense around Manuel in hope of finally end the streak.
Going into his second year Manuel will have a lot of pressure on his back. If he can stay consistent and have a mature outlook on perfecting his craft, he will do just fine when the season rolls around. Pressure or no pressure this is Manuel’s time to show up and put the Bill’s organization on his back.
