Dolphins the Latest to Trade With Redskins, Take Daniel Thomas at 62

The Miami Dolphins traded their third-round pick and two later-round picks to the Washington Redskins for the 30th pick in the second round of the NFL draft. With that pick, the Dolphins took Kansas State running back Daniel Thomas.

Analysis: Miami was growing tired of that Ricky Williams/Ronnie Brown tandem at running back and will throw the inexperienced Thomas into the mix. The Redskins still need their quarterback, but apparently they were enjoying building up the later rounds too much to stop and take Ryan Mallet.

Alum: Former Dolphins cornerback Sam Madison announced the pick, after a moving tribute to the late Dolphins player and broadcaster Jim Mandich, who died of cancer earlier this week.
