LAKE FOREST, IL – The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with LB Jordan Senn on a one-year contract.
The 5-11, 225-pound Senn has appeared in 83 games with seven starts over six seasons with Indianapolis (2008-09) and Carolina (2009-13), recording 88 tackles, one interception, two pass break-ups and three forced fumbles. Senn has added 49 special teams tackles during that time.
In 2013, Senn appeared in 14 games, mostly on special teams, registering six special teams tackles and one defensive stop.
After entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Indianapolis out of Portland State, Senn has appeared in at least 14 games in five of his six seasons.
The Chicago Bears agreed to terms with LB D.J. Williams on a one-year contract today.
In 2013, Williams started four of six games played for the Bears at middle linebacker, recording 39 tackles – including two sacks and two tackles for losses – and one forced fumble before being placed on injured reserve due to a pectoralis injury.
The 6-1, 242-pound Williams has started 119 of 133 games played in 10 seasons (2004-12) with Denver and Chicago (2013) after being selected 17th overall by the Broncos during the 2004 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami (FL).
He started at the weakside (39), inside (31), strongside (29) and middle (20) linebacker positions during his career, recording 855 tackles, 22.5 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries, 38 pass break-ups and two interceptions.
He is one of eight players to record 800 tackles and 20 sacks since entering the league in 2004. In the postseason, Williams has started five of six contests, recording 32 tackles, three pass break-ups and a half sack.
The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with S Ryan Mundy on a two-year contract.
The 6-1, 209-pound Mundy has started 14 of 80 games played over five seasons with Pittsburgh (2009-12) and the New York Giants (2013), collecting 143 tackles, two interceptions, 10 pass break-ups, three fumble recoveries, five tackles for losses and one sack. He has added 64 special teams tackles which are tied for third in the NFL since he joined the league in 2009.
In 2013, Mundy set career highs in games started (nine), tackles (70) and tackles for losses (four) while adding an interception – which he returned 91 yards – two pass break-ups, and a fumble recovery. He also had seven special teams stops.
He has appeared in four postseason contests, starting one, gathering four tackles and two forced fumbles. Mundy has appeared in all 16 games in each of his first five NFL seasons after entering the league as a sixth round selection (194th overall) by Pittsburgh in 2008 out of West Virginia.
