Miami Fans in Uproar Over Clabo

In the Miami Dolphin’s Sunday loss to the Buffalo Bills (23-21), fans were in an uproar over the poor performance of Tyson Clabo during the fourth quarter. Fans took to the twitter feeds stating that it was his fault Ryan Tannehill got sacked two times during the fourth which was a critical time for the Dolphins to rally.

While Clabo did allow the two sacks, can all the blame be put onto the shoulders of one offensive tackle? Ryan Tannehill managed to muster up three turnovers during the game, two of which were interceptions. In his previous performances on the field, he rarely threw a pick. Within the first quarter of Sunday’s game he threw a pick six and then later threw a pick that never should have left his hands to begin with.

Then there is the looming question as to whether Caleb Sturgis was also a cause of the Dolphin’s loss. Can Sturgis, a rookie,  bounce back from missing two field goals? He missed a field goal in Sunday’s game that could have saved the Dolphins from their defeat. It was all too bittersweet because the Buffalo Bills acquired Dan Carpenter, Miami’s previous kicker, who scored Buffalo’s winning field goal.

Fans are not only upset with the players, but the coaching staff itself. They are doubting Philbin and Sherman’s ability to command the offense, that clearly has issues within their front line. There is too much pressure being put on Tannehill, who on the last play of the game had to scramble just to get off a Hail Mary pass.

Next week the Dolphins will face the Patriots, who will attack Miami’s O-line and force Tannehill to scramble. During practice this week, the Dolphins need to work on their offensive game and their protection of Ryan Tannehill. If they fail to do this, fans should be prepared for a divisional loss to the Patriots, who sit at number one in the AFC East.
