Both the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans entered Saturday’s week-three preseason game winless. After a hard fought battle in Nashville, the Titans got out with their first win in a 27-16 victory.
Matt Ryan and the Falcons come out strong Saturday, putting up the first six points of the game. Ryan played the entire first half going 11-19 for 138 yards, but not scoring a touchdown. The only Falcon touchdown came from Dominique Davis with a 41-yard bomb to Darius Johnson. Running Back Steven Jackson led the team in rushing today with 51 yards off of 12 attempts. Kicker Jeremy Shelly had a good night as he made 3 of 4 field goals and led the team in points with 10.
After an early first quarter deficit, the Titans came back out to score 13 points in the second quarter and take the lead going into halftime. Quarterback Jake Locker played up until the first drive of the third quarter and had one touchdown and went 11-13 for 133 yards. Back-up quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick also did not disappoint as he had 2 touchdowns and went 6-9 passing with 76 yards. Chris Johnson had a better game this week than the last couple of weeks as he ran for 65 yards off 11 carries but unfortunately did not score.
The Atlanta Falcons hope to win their first preseason game as they face the winless Jaguars at home next week. Tennessee will take on Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings next week in Minneapolis and hope to end the preseason on a high note with a victory.
